SPECIAL THANKS TO UOFL

The love story continues!  Read on for your weekly dose of love!

WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK?

This past week was football camp!  Even though it was the hottest week of the year so far, we still came out to the park every morning for our football workout! We played football in the morning and then headed back to the Mackin in the afternoon for lunch, arts and crafts and a movie. Special thanks to the Nick Rodman Foundation for coordinating and running the camp and to the LMPD officers that came out to coach!  It was an awesome week!

SPECIAL THANKS TO UOFL

University of Louisville Football players came down to Love City last Saturday and helped clean out classrooms to get the school ready to start in a few weeks. It may not seem like much, but it was a huge help for our team. Now our teachers can come in the next two weeks and get their classrooms ready for the start of school! Thanks UofL!

Every week we'll spotlight a different area of Love City.  Have you tried some of the new Porkland Menu items?

Porkland BBQ

Taco Tuesdays have been a hit!  We started offering coleslaw on our tacos and it is a game changer!  We would put our tacos up against any in the city, with our homemade tomatillo sauce, corn salsa, and coleslaw.  We've also added chips and salsa to the menu and for dessert some yummy, fresh fried chips sprinkled in cinnamon sugar! If this trend continues we'll be expanding our taco offerings and coming up with creative new options that blend BBQ, fish and Tacos!

Don't forget about our new chicken salad also, we're putting the finishing touches on our new print menu which we will be sharing soon! Porkland is open from 11am - 6pm Tuesday through Thursday and 11am - 7pm on Fridays.  We have dine in, take out, delivery and curbside.  www.porklandbbq.com

PARTNER WITH US

At Love City we believe in time, talent and treasure.  Please read the below box for upcoming volunteer opportunities to love your neighbor!

On Saturday July 31 we will be working at a neighbors house.  Danny is a widower, great friend, and amazing Neighbor.  He has lived on St Cecilia St for several years and has been an advocate of Portland during his time here.  He needs some help beautifying his house to keep the city from giving him fines. We will be working from 9am - 12pm at his house on St Cecilia St.  If you can come please RSVP here.

If you are interested in volunteering or to find out more information about supplies needed please email: info@lovecityinc.org or call (502) 272-078.
