Sustainability Opportunity…
The past month or so, our Love Letters have been filled with ways of getting involved with our mission. Ways of being able to get involved in the school, helping with lunches, coaching, tutoring. Ways of being able to help change our city with your time. Now, we have another way that you can get involved and help support our mission.
Quality education costs a lot of money. One of the main components of Love City has always been to build sustainability behind the programs. A healthy community has all parts of an ecosystem, which includes things a community needs such as education, and sustainable ways to pay for those needs; sustainable businesses that generate the funds needed for things like a school. Before Covid, our system had a lot of this sustainability in place that helped support our other operations. During Covid, some of these sustainability measures took a hit. In the future, that sustainability will return.
In the future, we will have a daycare for 90 kids, parents will be able to utilize state funds to pay for their students. This will help with the whole system’s sustainability. In the future there will be Mighty Oak graduates running restaurants, body shops, tattoo shops, healthcare clinics, and everything in between that will help support the more expensive initiatives like education. Some of these sustainability measures are a couple of years away, some are 5 years, some are 30 years. In the meantime, we need support, and we have an amazing opportunity this month.
One of our supporters, the Price Foundation, has generously offered to match any new October donations up to $150,000.
